Do you wish there was a way to keep your toothbrush clean from bacteria and germs? If so, our Dr. Golden Laser Dental team is happy to grant your wish! There are many ways you can keep your toothbrush clean and in tip-top shape. You can do so by doing the following things:
-Wash your hands before and after you brush your teeth. It’s best to do so with soap and warm water.
-When you are done brushing, rinse your brush with warm water and store it upright so it can dry.
-Never cover your toothbrush bristles with a toothbrush cover or any other product before the bristles are dry. A moist environment is breeding ground for bacteria.
-Always brush your teeth with a dry toothbrush. If you ever have a hard time with this, you can buy a second toothbrush and switch between the two while the other dries.
-Don’t share your toothbrush with anyone—even your family members. Also, try not to store your toothbrush where it might touch other toothbrush bristles.
-Replace your toothbrush after you’ve used it for three to four months and after you’ve been sick.
-If one of your family members is sick, have them use a different tube of toothpaste so they don’t spread germs.
